Position Summary
The Development Grants Coordinator is responsible for managing the organization’s private grants from philanthropic foundations and corporations. This officer will oversee all private grants for the Development team, including managing the annual grants calendar, researching grant prospects, writing and submitting proposals, preparing supportive documentation, testimonials and reports, and overseeing philanthropy strategies to support the Montrose Center’s mission. This role works closely with program staff and finance team to ensure accurate budgets, timelysubmissions and strong donor engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, write,prepareandsubmitall exploratory foundation and corporate grants for the Center.
- Manage the Development grants calendar fortimelysubmissions and reporting.
- Identifycorporate and foundation grant prospects under the strategy of the Chief Development Officer.
- Collaborate with program staff for accuracy on program descriptions, reporting, key performancemetricsandgrantdeadlines.
- Prepare grant budgets with approval from leadership and finance to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Represent the Montrose Center as support staff for fundraising or stewardship events, and community networking events as needed.
- Perform other duties as required -
to support the effective operation of the department and organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degreerequiredin English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Administration, PublicHealthor relevant field.
- Three years of professional experience in fundraising, grants or technical writing preferred.
- Access to reliable transportation,a currentTexas Driver’s License, and auto insurancerequired.
- Salesforce or donor database CRM experience preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills are mandatory. An ability to work under short deadlines and multi-task is essential.
