Key Responsibilities
Your role in our mission includes the following responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all phases of estate planning, probate, guardianship, wills, and trust matters.
- Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, orders, and other court documents.
- Prepare and respond to discovery, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing documents.
- File documents with the appropriate courts (e-filing and in-person as needed) and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Maintain and update case calendars, including hearings, deadlines, client meetings, and court appearances.
- Prepare trial and hearing binders, exhibits, witness lists, and related materials.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional and timely manner.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Coordinate signing appointments and assist with execution of estate planning documents.
- Perform legal research and factual investigation as needed to support case strategy.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and other team members to move cases forward efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned to support the estate planning and probate practice.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Must have a minimum of 2+ years of estate planning/probate, experience in TX, 5+ years are most preferred.
- An Associate’s degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Excellent typing skills and computer literacy, including a solid understanding MS Office and or Google Suite applications.
- Proficiency on Clio and TxDoc OR similar software.
- Demonstrate proficiency to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor and positive communicator.
