As the Director of Security, you will lead information security at Textio, ensuring ongoing alignment of our security and risk management strategy with overall business objectives. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership to understand deeply what our quickly growing business needs. You’ll also be hands-on in implementing this strategy: establishing the policies, procedures, tools, and audit cadence to meet our security and compliance objectives.

  • You are stellar at and have real passion for driving security initiatives and building consensus across entire organizations
  • You understand how to scale your impact by building a team around you
  • You love contributing just as much as leading
  • You have not only experience passing external audits, but also advising on which certifications will most benefit Textio.
  • You have experience with common security standards such as SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, ISO 27001/27018, and PCI.
  • You are practical and strategic in your approach to security and risk management; we’re a small company with a strong growth trajectory and need appropriate risk management at each step
  • You have deep knowledge of security standard methodologies and how to model them at many levels: in the organization, in processes, in code, and in infrastructure
  • You have built a security program, from writing policy to implementing foundational security tooling, from the ground up
  • You have a track record of trying and learning new things
  • You have a point of view but are low ego
