The Opportunity
We’re looking for our next extraordinary team member to join our Food & Beverage team as Food & Beverage Supervisor across Esprit Noir and Le Rivage.
This role gives you the opportunity to lead service across two distinctive Sofitel venues. Esprit Noir, our sophisticated lobby bar, offers a stylish setting for cocktails, wine, beverages and relaxed dining, while Le Rivage, our poolside bar, brings a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere to our waterfront setting.
As a Supervisor, you’ll be a hands-on leader who sets the standard on the floor, supporting your team and ensuring every service runs smoothly. You’ll lead by example, anticipate guest needs, manage service flow and step in to resolve challenges, creating experiences that feel effortless, welcoming and distinctly Sofitel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and motivate the Food & Beverage team, creating a positive culture of teamwork, accountability and the Sofitel Heartist attitude.
- Oversee day-to-day service across Esprit Noir and Le Rivage, ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation and guest experience.
- Coordinate service flow, team deployment and operational requirements to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Actively engage with guests, anticipate their needs and create personalised experiences throughout their visit.
- Confidently manage guest feedback, requests and service recovery, taking ownership through to resolution.
- Maintain strong knowledge of food, cocktails, wine, champagne and beverage offerings, supporting the team with recommendations and product knowledge.
- Assist with stock management, ordering, stocktakes and minimising wastage.
- Support revenue generation through effective service, upselling and identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
- Assist with accurate POS operations, charging and end-of-shift reconciliation.
- Support the onboarding, training, coaching and development of team members through regular feedback and on-the-floor guidance.
- Work closely with Kitchen, Bar and wider hotel teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, cleanliness, responsible service of alcohol and workplace health and safety.
- Lead by example during busy service periods, remaining calm, organised and guest-focused.
Qualifications
About You
You’re an experienced Food & Beverage professional who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and creating memorable guest experiences. You’re ready to take the next step in your hospitality leadership career and enjoy working across different service environments.
You bring:
- Proven experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory or senior operational role, ideally within a premium, luxury or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of bar and restaurant operations, with an understanding of service flow and guest experience.
- A genuine passion for food, cocktails, wine, champagne and premium beverage service.
- Confidence leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues.
- The confidence to manage guest feedback and resolve challenges professionally and calmly.
- An understanding of stock control, POS operations, revenue generation and cost awareness.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A warm, confident and professional personality with a genuine “can do” attitude.
- A passion for luxury hospitality and personalised guest service.
- A current RSA certificate.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
