Healthcare Security Officer - West Auckland/North Shore

Red Badge Group is seeking vigilant, professional individuals to join our Healthcare Security team on Auckland's North Shore & West Auckland, roles may include day or night shifts. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a reassuring and visible security presence throughout healthcare premises during night shifts.

• Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff with empathy, professionalism, and respect.

• Monitor entry and exit points, conduct routine patrols, and support access management.

• Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies, alarms, incidents, and requests for assistance.

• Accurately record incidents, health and safety risks, and security breaches, upholding confidentiality at all times.

• Support de-escalation of challenging situations and maintain a safe environment for all.

• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and emergency services as needed.

• Contribute to compliance with site-specific health and safety procedures and Red Badge Group standards.

Roster:

• Rotating roster on an 8-week rotation, a roster published months in advance

• Shifts are from either 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am

• Working no more than 4 days in a row

• Work 7 days per fortnight

• If working the weekend - work the whole weekend or have the whole weekend off

• Must be fully flexible to work the rotating roster

What We’re Looking For:

• Calm, mature, and compassionate approach when supporting people in sensitive situations.

• Excellent oral communication, active listening, and strong interpersonal skills.

• Proven reliability for overnight and weekend work – punctual, professional, and well-presented.

• Safety-focused, decisive, and capable of problem-solving under pressure.

• Previous security experience (healthcare setting advantageous, but not required).

• Ability to conduct active patrols and respond promptly to all incidents across a large site.

• Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA) or be eligible to obtain one.

• Minimum age of 18 years and eligibility to work in New Zealand.

• Must have a Full New Zealand Drivers License and reliable transport.

• Commitment to maintaining respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.

• Willingness to commit to at least 2 years in Healthcare Security.

• Clean criminal conviction record.
