Job Description:

The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key contributor in developing solutions on complex infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

• Encourages an environment of sharing and team work among the team.

• Must have deep technical knowledge in operating systems, client and/or hosting hardware, back office applications, web and application services, network protocols, databases, connectivity services, storage, backup and recovery, and systems management concepts and techniques for mission critical systems

• In-depth understanding of compute technologies, environments, and datacenters and their engineering integration into mission critical system designs

• Must possess excellent technical troubleshooting skills.

• Understanding of current technologies in relevant areas of expertise

• Explores and stays abreast of new technologies that can bring value to the organization

• Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Preference would be given to candidates that have one or more of the following skills

• Experience with automation – Infrastructure as code (CHEF, Puppet) tools or deployment automation scripting

• Experience in Shell, Jython, PERL scripting

• Experience with UNIX administration.

• Experience with VMware environments

• Experience with Application/Web Servers like WAS or TcServer

• Experience with Network technologies

• Experience with Database technologies

• Experience with various security components such as Application security, LDAP, SSL certificates and other third party security products

• Experience working with the ITIL and ITSM models.

• Strong Time Management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

• Good understanding of storage technologies including SAN and NAS

• Good understanding of concepts related to server load balancing, clustering and other application scaling concepts.

• Highly proficient in UNIX/LINUX environments and their application to engineering designs
