- Paste the posting URL above. Jobless checks whether the listing is still live on the employer's own careers page and shows how many days it has been open compared to the median for that ATS.
- What does 'stale' mean for a job posting?
- We mark a posting stale when it has been open more than twice the median days-open for its platform, or more than 60 days regardless of platform. Stale does not mean fake, but it does mean the odds of a fast reply are lower.
- Why do some jobs get reposted?
- Companies repost when a search restarts, when a posting expires and gets refreshed to stay visible, or sometimes to keep a pipeline open without an active seat. The checker shows past posting dates for the same role at the same company so you can see the pattern.
- What is a ghost job?
- A ghost job is a listing that stays posted with no real intent to hire, often to build a resume pipeline, satisfy a hiring-plan requirement, or signal company growth. There is no single definitive test, but age far past the platform median, repeated reposting, and no salary disclosure are the signals that correlate with it in our data.
- Why does the checker say a job is not found?
- Jobless indexes employers' own careers pages, not third-party job boards. If you pasted a link from a board or aggregator rather than the original company posting, search for the company directly or try the original URL from the employer's site.
