As a Kaitūhono at Kaikaranga, you will work alongside tamariki aged under 12 who have been stood down or excluded from school, and the whānau behind them. This is wraparound, relational mahi in a brand-new service, with the space, and the support to do it properly.

What you will be doing

  • Building trusted relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the schools and services around them
  • Navigating across education, health, and disability to find what each child needs
  • Advocating for tamariki in spaces that haven't always made room for them
  • Contributing to a learning-focused service that's designed to change things at scale

What you will bring

  • Experience working with tamariki and whānau in education, health, or community services. Our ideal is experience in education and disability combined
  • The ability to build trust quickly across diverse communities
  • Knowledge of the school system and how to navigate it alongside families
  • A genuine commitment to equity and to doing things differently
