What You’ll Do:
The Lead Participant Care Assistant in the Day Center will coordinate care activities, assist with training and mentoring of PCAs, ensure adherence to care plans, and maintain effective communication with participants, families, and the IDT. You will work closely with the team to deliver strong leadership, compassionate care and support smooth operations in the Day Center.

What You’ll Do:
The Lead Participant Care Assistant in the Day Center will coordinate care activities, assist with training and mentoring of PCAs, ensure adherence to care plans, and maintain effective communication with participants, families, and the IDT. You will work closely with the team to deliver strong leadership, compassionate care and support smooth operations in the Day Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong Leadership - Train and oversee PCAs, being a leader in the Day Center balancing admin duties with compassionate care.
- Provide Hands-On Care – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support Mealtime– Help participants enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
- Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
- Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
- Maintain Comfort & Care – Oversee supply ordering for the Day Center.
- Provide Responsive Support – Handle cares and respond with kindness and compassion.
- Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Complete documentation on participant care provided.
- Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- CNA certification, required.
- Two years of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals, aiding with daily living activities.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR or BLS certification or willing to obtain.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and operate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
