Principal Software Engineer

Suvoda is a global clinical trial technology company shaping digital experiences that enable clinical trial sponsor and site professionals to take full command over the inherent logistical complexity behind mission-critical and time-sensitive patient interactions in life-sustaining studies for therapeutic areas such as oncology, central nervous system, and rare disease.

Supporting clinical trials means supporting unique experiments that are inherently complex, high-stakes, and dynamic. It is imperative that Suvoda staff working with clients, end-users, or the systems that client and end-users interact with understand the clinical trial industry, regulations, Suvoda’s software products and processes, and especially the specificities of the unique trial in question before taking any actions they may alter the data of the system in question.

Reports to: Director, Site Reliability Engineering

Responsibilities:

● Lead design of major software components, systems, and features to improve the
availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Suvoda’s services.
● Collaborate and liaison with global teams across the Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) to deliver software products and client services and to remove obstacles and
blockers
● Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design,
through deployment, operation, and refinement.
● Work on creating technical standards and participate in RFC discussions and proposals.
● Write and maintain technical documentation for the platform
● Investigate and resolve platform issues, collaborating with other teams as necessary
● Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
● Work on improving the engineering culture at Suvoda.
● Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
● Proficient in at least one major programming language (C#, Java, C++, Python, Go, etc.)
● Experience with distributed systems, big data, and/or parallel computing
● Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Experience:

● 12+ years of professional experience in software engineering
