About this role
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Program Manager supervises, assistsand trains Mental Health Workers in day-to-day operations and provides direct personal care and supervision to facility staff and residents while promoting client well-being through support with instrumental activities of daily living.
Job Responsibilities
- Trains new hire Mental Health Workers in everyday functions.
- Assists residents in daily living activities and trains residents in self-care practices.
- Aids staff in administering therapeutic activities, such as physical exercises, arts and crafts, and recreational games.
- Converses with residents to promote social interaction.
- Observes, documents, and attends to routine health care needs of residents under supervision of medical personnel and reports client status change to the Lead, PD, or the Nursing Manager as needed.
- Assists residents in taking medication as prescribed.
- Accompanies residents on off-grounds trips, instructs and counsels residents in purchase of items.
- Follows facility safety guidelines including proper lifting technique and Universal Precautions.
- Reviews weekly treatment plans with clients.
- Works directly with the catering company to discuss daily census.
- Orders facility items on a monthly basis.
- Supports with de-escalating crisis situations.
- Addresses patient complaints with the support and guidance of the Program Director.
- Maintains sufficient facility items in stock and readily available for residents and staff use.
- Facilitates three groups a week.
- Covers intake department and provides «on-call» support as needed.
- Duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years in a leadership role preferred but not required.
- Certifications: Basic First Aid & CPR, Clear California and Federal background checks
- A Clear criminal record review and fingerprint background check
- Successful completion of a Negative Drug Test
* Hiring is contingent upon a full background screening in accordance with California licensing regulations; DOJ/FBI clearance, pre-employment physical, and TB clearance. DMV printout and Basic First Aid certification are required prior to employment.
License, Certification, Registration
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Certification
- Must have an active Driver's License
- Must provide proof of vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $30,000 liability
