About the Role

Design Sheet Metal is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support our daily operations and keep things running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across purchasing, supplier coordination, and customer service — no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in ensuring materials arrive on time, orders are accurate, and customers receive a seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers
• Ensure accuracy across pricing, quantities, and order details
• Track orders and manage supplier lead times
• Communicate updates with customers and internal teams
• Resolve delivery issues, shortages, or discrepancies quickly
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate where required
• Support the sales team with quotes, orders, and follow-ups
• Provide professional customer service via phone, email, and in person
• Assist across the business as needed in a fast-paced environment

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset
• Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, team-oriented environment
• Previous purchasing, admin, or customer service experience preferred
