Job Description – QA Food Safety and QIMS Supervisor

The QA Food Safety and QIMS Supervisor is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Food Safety Management System in compliance with BRCGS, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, legal regulations, and customer requirements for GFI products and sites related to Agro, De-Capping , IQF, Puree and Export.

The role ensures that verification and calibration activities are effectively managed, compliance with management system requirements is consistently monitored, and corrective actions are taken when necessary to uphold high standards of food safety and quality.

Ensure the readiness of documentation throughout the Customer & Certification Body visits, and addressing findings and implementing CAPAs when needed.

In parallel, the role leads the governance, integrity, and quality of all GFI operational data, ensuring that data standards, policies, and procedures are maintained to deliver accurate, reliable, and traceable information across GFI sites and external operations.

Scope of Work

1. GFI FSMS and digital data management tool:

o Develop, implement, and monitor FSMS policies, procedures, and records aligned with certification, legal, and customer requirements.

o Ensure full integration of FSMS elements across GFI sites for consistent application.

o Maintain a robust documentation control process to ensure accessibility and version control.

o Conduct daily monitoring activities for system adoption and data accuracy across GFI sites and GFI external operations.

o Schedule weekly reviews with Food Safety & QIMS Head to track progress, address issues, and ensure alignment.

2. FSMS Maintenance:

o Monitor FSMS performance and update procedures when required.

o Lead periodic reviews and updates of food safety risk assessments, HACCP plans, prerequisite programs (PRPs), and operational controls.

o Ensure all corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are tracked, completed, and verified for effectiveness.

3. Verification Activities:

o Maintain Crop verification schedule for final Product, PRPs, CCPs, OPRPs, and process controls.

o Analyze verification data to confirm process effectiveness and ongoing compliance.

o Present verification results to Food Safety & QIMS Head and recommend improvements where necessary.

• Oversee the migration of existing QMS processes into GFI digital data management tool, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

4. Calibration Management

o Ensure all measuring devices, weighing scales, thermometers, and critical instruments are calibrated according to schedule.

o Maintain up-to-date calibration records and address any non-conformities found during calibration.

o Liaise with approved service providers for calibration services and maintain service agreements.

5. Compliance Monitoring:

o Monitor compliance with:

• Legal food safety and regulatory requirements ex (NFSA, Employees health cert., etc.)
• Customer-specific requirements (product specifications, codes of practice, audit standards).
• Management system requirements for certifications (BRCGS, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).

o Maintain and regularly update a compliance register.

o Track regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.

6. Team Coaching:

• Coach GFI team members, and provide the need knowledge to fulfill the scope of work.
• Train team members on FSMS, digital data management and QMS best practices.

7. Training & Awareness

o Support training programs to ensure staff are understand and implement FSMS procedures, use GFI data management tool, applying verification requirements, calibration protocols, and compliance obligations effectively.

o Assess training effectiveness and arrange refresher sessions when necessary.

8. Continuous Improvement

o Identify trends from verification, calibration, and compliance monitoring data.

o Recommend and support implementation of system improvements to prevent recurrence of issues.
