Position Summary:

The Safety Technician supports the organization’s safety program by assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This position is key in promoting a strong safety culture and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance with safety regulations.
  • Support and assist in accident/incident investigations and ensure proper documentation and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain safety records including daily safety logs, near-miss reports, and training documentation.
  • Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors.
  • Assist in planning and conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
  • Ensure safety signage and safety-related postings are current and visible on the job site.
  • Support the implementation of company safety programs, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management.
  • Provide support during OSHA inspections and assist with follow-up actions as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable safety regulations and best practices.


Education / Qualifications / Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of safety-related experience in [construction, manufacturing, or relevant industry].
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must possess a valid driver license with a clear record.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around construction/job sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and work environments.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily field-based with occasional office duties.
  • May require travel to multiple job sites.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, dust, and hazardous materials.
