Senior Accountant

Purpose of the role

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong experience in accounting and financial management within the logistics industry and will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax management, budgeting, cash flow planning, and audit coordination while providing financial insights to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and financial performance reports.

• Ensure compliance with TRA requirements and other applicable regulatory obligations.

• Perform monthly tax return filings and support statutory compliance processes.

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities.

• Coordinate internal and external audit processes and provide required financial documentation.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.

• Support management with financial analysis, reporting, and insights to facilitate business decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (T) or ACCA is required.

• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in accounting and financial management within the logistics industry.

• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and statutory compliance requirements.

• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and audit coordination.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
