About this role
About Lean In & SGBFF
The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (SGBFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together through four initiatives: LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.
Through community, research-based content, and programs, we help women and allies build the skills, confidence, and Networks they need to reach their full potential.
Role Overview
Lean In reaches thousands of partners, volunteer leaders, and community members around the world with free programs and products that inspire and equip women to lead. We recently launched Lean In Connect, a community platform where anyone can start or join a peer mentorship Circle, join a Network of women in their area or field, or participate as an individual member. We need a strategic, scrappy senior marketing manager to help build the marketing engine for this platform and the programs that it supports – Lean In Circles, Lean In Girls, and Company Programs.
You will own how Lean In acquires and retains people into our offerings. This includes go-to-market planning, multi-channel strategy, and advertising for new launches and existing products. You’ll report to the Head of Product and partner closely with Programs and Content leads who know our mission and community best.
We are a lean team and leverage AI for efficiency, while always maintaining human voice and judgment.
Advertising
Craft and execute Lean In’s advertising strategy, primarily driving individual women into Lean In Connect and Circles.
Own the ad budget and the channel mix. Model CPA and activation assumptions and make deliberate trade-offs rather than defaulting to more spend.
Own the creative: ad design and copy, landing pages, signup flows, etc.
Design the experimentation plan: what we’re testing and why, and the exit criteria for scaling or pausing.
Track and analyze performance against KPIs (traffic, conversion rate, CPA), and ensure learnings are captured and communicated to stakeholders regularly
Multi-channel marketing
Own acquisition and retention across channels. Bring them in, and keep them active once they’re here.
Craft and execute on a multi-channel marketing strategy, with a focus on social and email. Know the many ways to reach and convert people, and use the right levers for each audience and product.
Build marketing campaigns for our programs: Company Programs, Lean In Girls, Circles and Networks. For example, turning findings from the Circles survey into a campaign that recruits new Circle leaders across ads, social, and email.
Own campaigns and always-on marketing efforts end to end: You come up with the idea, write the copy yourself, build it, and send it.
Identify target personas and define the audiences we're going after. Campaigns need to land with a broad, diverse, global audience.
Go-to-market
Build and run go-to-market plans for new offerings, from concept through launch to post-launch optimization, with a focus on growth and conversion.
Own marketing levers to deliver against stated KPIs for each initiative.
Own positioning and messaging for launches like Lean In Connect, Women in the Workplace, and the Career Coach Chatbot, and partner with Communications on press moments.
What You'll Bring
5-7+ years in growth, performance, or acquisition marketing, with strength in both B2C and B2B.
A track record of data-driven marketing and strong analytic chops: A/B testing, conversion optimization, and independently driving experimentation from hypothesis to results.
Experience owning a media budget and deciding channel mix, with evidence of improving efficiency rather than only increasing spend.
Experience building and running a go-to-market plan end to end, through public launch to measurable adoption.
A habit of testing new acquisition channels before there’s a playbook. You follow how GEO and AI search are changing discovery, and how Lean In shows up in those places as a way to acquire new members.
Strong creative instincts. You can write the copy and direct the design, not just brief someone else.
Strong cross-functional partnership. You work with Content, Product, and Comms as a peer, and you frame performance in terms of both program impact and channel metrics.
Proactive communication. You align stakeholders before executing and make it easy for partners to see where things stand.
Demonstrated ability to drive intersectional, inclusive marketing outcomes, and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
Passion for the missions of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.
