About the Role

Join Instead as a Software Engineering Intern and work alongside our core engineering team in San Francisco. You will contribute to production features, learn from experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience building the future of tax technology.

What You Will Do

• Build and ship features across our full-stack platform (Vue.js/Nuxt frontend, Go backend)
• Collaborate with product, design, and tax domain experts
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and engineering discussions
• Work on real projects that impact thousands of tax professionals

What We Are Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with web development (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
• Exposure to backend development (Go, Python, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco
