Speech Language Pathologist

Salary: $70K-$90K

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

As a speech-language pathologist at Advocates' TechACCESS program, you’ll make a meaningful difference for individuals with speech, language, swallowing, and complex communication needs. From helping someone communicate a basic need to introducing an AAC system that opens new possibilities for connection and independence, your work will have a direct and lasting impact.

You’ll provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and training while partnering with individuals, families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary teams. This is an exciting opportunity for an SLP with experience or interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) who is passionate about finding creative, individualized solutions that improve communication and quality of life.

You’ll work across schools, community settings, and partner locations throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island—bringing your expertise directly to the people and communities you serve.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication strengths, needs, and functional goals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each person’s needs, preferences, and priorities.
• Provide direct speech-language pathology services, including AAC assessment and intervention when appropriate.
• Support individuals in developing functional communication skills across environments and daily activities.
• Monitor progress through data collection and ongoing clinical evaluation, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary team members to support communication goals and strategies.
• Provide education and training on communication strategies, AAC systems, assistive technology, and device use.
• Participate in team meetings and provide clinical recommendations to support coordinated care.
• Complete timely and accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain compliance with professional standards, payer requirements, state regulations, organizational policies, and ethical guidelines.
• Advocate for access to appropriate communication supports, AAC resources, and speech-language services.
• Participate in community outreach, educational presentations, and trainings related to communication, AAC, and assistive technology.
• Support additional responsibilities outlined within ATAP contracts and other applicable program grants, including sharing relevant information for newsletters and social media.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an ASHA-accredited university.
• Current professional licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, or eligibility for licensure in both states.
• Valid driver’s license and access to an operational, insured vehicle, and ability to travel regularly throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience working with individuals with complex communication needs preferred.
• Experience assessing, implementing, and training individuals and families on AAC systems preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals with swallowing needs preferred.
• Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
• Experience developing individualized, measurable, and functional treatment goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with individuals, families, and team members.
