Job Purpose/ Objectives:
- The Treasury Coordinator will be responsible for managing and forecasting cash across the group in the short, medium, and long term.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Oversee the company’s banking infrastructure, ensuring timely execution of naira and FX payments.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, guaranteeing the company’s ability to meet obligations while optimizing reserves.
- Handle indirect tax profiles such as WHT, VAT, and NCD, ensuring compliance and risk minimization.
- Liaise with banks on debt management and currency exchange processes, mitigating risk.
- Enforce treasury policies, oversee vendor onboarding, and manage accounts payable through the 3-way match system.
- Prepare bank reconciliations across all business entities and play vital role in the company’s annual audit by providing well-documented treasury information.
- Maintain loan repayment schedules, ensuring timely payments to banks and external partners.
- Set up payments on banking platforms and prepare fund transfer documents.
- Ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Maintain banking and credit rating agency relationships.
- Monitor the activities of third parties handling outsourced treasury functions on behalf of the company.
- Maintain and recommend policies and procedures that ensure adequate control over treasury activities.
- Ensure all banking and signatory requirements are up to date.
- Conduct month-end duties such as balance sheet reconciliations and entries.
- Ensure compliance with all financial covenants, working closely with the corporate finance team.
- Provide guidance and assistance to the business as required.
- Perform user administration duties on direct banking systems.
- Ensure systems are fully utilized to manage treasury operations efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all control procedures.
- Supervises junior treasury staff and Accounts Payable team and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
- Responsible for managing company cash flow, investments, and liquidity positions.
- Ensures proper allocation of funds and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Perform all other duties that are necessary and reasonably attached to this Treasury Coordinator position and the fulfillment of its responsibilities.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/HND degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- Candidate must have one of the following certifications:
- ACA, ACCA, CPA or related accounting certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of financial risk management, debt financing, and FX risk mitigation.
- Knowledge and experience in Nigerian taxation and all statutory reporting requirements is essential.
- Must be versatile in International Financial Reporting Standards in the context of oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of information systems implementation methodologies, governance and control will be an added advantage.
- Must excel in oral and written English language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) for reporting and analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Treasury role or subdivision in the Finance department of a large organization.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas upstream industry will be an added advantage.
