Te tūnga | The Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Kaiwhiriwhiri (Navigator) to join our Rangitamirotanga team.

This pivotal role supports whānau to identify their aspirations, develop holistic wellbeing plans, and access services that strengthen physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing. Working alongside whānau, community partners and service providers, you will help create meaningful and sustainable outcomes that are whānau-led and grounded in kaupapa Māori values.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Build trusted relationships with whānau and undertake assessments.
• Co-create and review whānau wellbeing plans.
• Connect whānau with the services and resources they need.
• Support whānau to build confidence, capability and independence.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate records using client management systems.
• Monitor and report on whānau outcomes and progress.
• Promote cultural safety and uphold Ngāti Hine tikanga and kawa.
• Participate in community engagement activities and events.

Ko wai koe? | About You

You will bring:

• A Diploma in Whānau Ora or be working towards obtaining one.
• A relevant qualification in social services, community services or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with whānau, hapū, iwi and communities.
• A strong understanding of tikanga Māori and kaupapa Māori practice.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
• Te Reo Māori proficiency or a willingness to continue learning would be an advantage.
