Merchandiser

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Merchandiser ensures all products are neatly displayed, fully stocked and neither damaged nor date expired. This role requires high standards of customer service and attention to detail.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Retail displays/shelves must be kept full and be neatly arranged. Attention must be paid whilst displaying products to ensure that shelves have optimum eye appeal for customers.
• Clean/dust shelves prior to merchandising. Products should not be placed on dirty shelves.
• Ensure that the correct products are stocked above the appropriate labels, and that all labels are working properly.
• Ensure that any new product requiring merchandising has been assigned a shelf label.
• All food products must be rotated to ensure the earliest expiry dates are at the front of the display.
• Any expired or damaged goods must be removed from the retail display and properly recorded using the scanner provided and placed in the designated areas for such products.
• Both retail and storage (back Warehouse) areas should be kept clean, tidy and organized.
• Ensure that empty boxes and trash are promptly removed from the aisles to always ensure a safe environment for customers.
• Merchandisers are reminded that NO products should leave through the back door unless a manager or supervisor and loading dock personnel have been notified.
• Scan grocery items to replenish shelves daily.

• Assist with merchandising all areas of the store, particularly when vacation or sick coverage is required.

• Perform other duties from time to time as requested by the Duty Supervisor.

Work Environment:

• Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Hours of Operation:

• Miles Market operates Monday to Saturday from 7:30am - 7:30pm; Sundays from 10:00am - 5:00pm.
