Oko Gold Project- Accountant Analyst

In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:

Accountant Analyst

Accountant analyst will support the accounting department and Senior Accountant with payments preparation, data analysis, tax remittance, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of the Payment batches, responsible of the first review and process to the bank
• Weekly follow-up of the banks accounts and monthly doing the bank reconciliations
• Preparation Journal Entries (including Petty Cash)
• Preparation of the monthly GL Account analysis
• Preparation of tax remittance
• Other accounting tasks to support team
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Develop and improve financial models and dashboards for performance tracking.
• Collaborate wit departments across the organization to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  

Qualifications/Skills and Experience

• ACCA Level II or higher or bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance
• CPA, CMA, or relevant certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting
• 3-5 years accounting experience at a supervisory level
• Must have knowledge of local tax regulations
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a good understanding of IFRS standards
• Knowledge of SAP will be an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
