HOD / Consultant Pediatrics (American Board / UK CCT / Western Qualification)

A leading healthcare group in the UAE is seeking an experienced HOD / Senior Consultant Pediatrics to lead the Paediatrics department and provide high-quality clinical care. The role combines senior clinical responsibilities with departmental leadership, team management, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Paediatrics department and clinical team.
• Provide consultant-level care for paediatric patients across inpatient and outpatient services.
• Manage complex and high-risk paediatric cases and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Develop clinical protocols, pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise, mentor, and support paediatricians and junior medical staff.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and departmental meetings.
• Support recruitment, workforce planning, and departmental development.
• Contribute to teaching, training, and professional development activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated patient care.

Requirements

• Medical degree with recognised postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics.
• Consultant-level qualification and experience.
• American, Canadian, Australian, Irish Board, CCT/CCST or equivalent preferred.
• Strong experience in a tertiary hospital or established paediatric department.
• Previous HOD / Department leadership experience preferred.
• DHA / DoH / MOHAP eligibility or licence preferred.
• Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
