Managing Director - Bahamas Property Fund

The Bahamas Property Fund is a leading real estate Fund specializing in acquiring, repositioning or redeveloping, managing, and leasing commercial properties throughout the Bahamas. The Fund Manager is seeking an experienced and dynamic Managing Director (MD) to lead the Fund. The MD will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Fund’s operations, including strategic planning in conjunction with the Fund Manager, financial management, property acquisition, development, operations and investor relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate, finance, and executive leadership, with a proven track record of accountability and driving growth and profitability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and implement the organization's strategic vision and goals as agreed with the Fund Manager

- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within the real estate market.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Financial Management:

- Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, financial reports, and funding proposals.

- Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization with complete responsibility for the financial statements and related cashflow.

- Drive revenue generation through effective property management and leasing strategies.

Operations and Management:

- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments.

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational performance.

- Supervise senior management team members, providing guidance and support.

Property Acquisition and Development:

- Identify and evaluate potential property acquisitions and investment opportunities, in collaboration with the Fund Manager.

- Oversee the development, improvement and management of existing properties.

- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

Investor Relations:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, stakeholders, and partners.

- Provide transparent and timely communication regarding the organization’s performance.

- Organize and lead investor meetings, presentations, and reporting.

Community Engagement:

- Represent the organization in the community and build positive relationships with local entities.

- Promote sustainable development practices that benefit the community and environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in executive leadership roles, preferably within the real estate or property management industry.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and property acquisition.
• Strong understanding of real estate markets, investment strategies, and regulatory environments, especially in the Bahamas.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and stakeholders.
