The role of the Senior Trust Officer is to provide functional support and conduct activities relative to the operation of the Department and Company
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing relationships with a goal of fostering business development opportunities through involvement in leadership roles in professional groups, community service, and personal relationships with other professionals
- Engagement planning, organization, and delegation to maximize efficiency & effectiveness, achieve quality goals, and maintain public knowledge of products and services
- Managing client assignments and assuring timely filing of all related regulatory requirements
- Maintain or enhance, as appropriate, a structured and focused mechanism for take-on of new business and/or new products
- Reviewing and analyzing trust documents, Last Will and Testaments, powers of attorney, and other related documents
- Interacting with internal and/or external clients to identify their objectives and to develop a comprehensive trust/estate plan.
- Coordinate with legal and tax professionals to ensure proper administration of trusts/estates.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify additional requirements and/or deficits.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Retain current industry trends, regulatory changes, and investment market dynamics.
- General administrative duties i.e.: Recording and file maintenance, mail distribution, answering telephones, writing memos, etc. as needed
- Following established procedures, methods, and practices
- Compiling and assembling information, data input, spreadsheet support and output
- Other duties as assigned by Department Manager
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or related field
- Legal experience, working knowledge of accounting (optional)
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong adherence to professional standards and confidentiality
- Experience with Information Management software such as Viewpoint and Laserfiche is an asset
